This year too, Villach’s old town shines with festive splendour and offers young and old an extraordinary Advent experience and an unforgettable run-up to Christmas. Whether you sit in one of the cosy huts in the evening exchanging stories with your loved ones over a hot drink, stroll comfortably through the old town or look out for presents at the Christmas stalls – Villach’s Advent market offers the right entertainment for everyone. In the meantime children can let off steam on the ice rink on the Rathausplatz.

Another highlight is the Winter Wunder Wald designed by Thomas Brezina in the grounds of the Parkhotel, which not only makes children’s eyes light up but also offers wonderful photo opportunities for the whole family. Together with Blachere Illumination, the popular children’s book author created colourful creatures which are intended to represent 7 Christmas wonders during Advent and, subsequently, 7 winter motifs.
